Oxfordshire Digital Infrastructure Partnership Board

Description

The Digital Infrastructure Programme consists of six projects:

1.    Better Broadband for Oxfordshire Programme – contract now completed enabling 80,000 premises to access superfast broadband

2.    Businesses in Rural England – EAFRD funded contracts with BT and Airband delivering ultrafast broadband to rural Oxfordshire, focused on improving business productivity. Delivery of this project completed August 2022.

3.    GigaHubs Project – focused on connecting public sector buildings with gigabit-capable connectivity.

4.    Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme – vouchers available to help cover the cost of installing gigabit-capable connections to eligible rural businesses and residential premises

5.    Project Gigabit – DCMS funding of up to £114m to extend full fibre coverage to over 68,000 hard-to-reach premises in Oxfordshire & West Berkshire

6.    Mobile Coverage – focused on improving 3G and 4G coverage, and the roll out of 5G across the county

 

The Digital Infrastructure Programme is run by Craig Bower (Programme Director), Mark Hopping (Programme Manager), Kerry Colston (Programme Manager), Claire Hutchins-Lee (Project Manager – Data Specialist) Anna Miles (Project Manager), Tamar Bowley (Senior Marketing and Communications Lead) and Jack Paviour (Admin Officer) with Tim Spiers (Director of Digital ICT) as the Executive Director and Councillor Glynis Phillips (Cabinet Member for Corporate Services).
