To approve the proposed system of:

(a)               formally registering local community flood groups and

(b)               administering applications for the issuing of grant funding to schemes relating to flood prevention and response action

The details of the proposal are set out in the report of the Deputy Director (Commercial Services) dated 8 December 2008 and entitled ‘Local Community Flood Groups and the Flood-related Grants Funding Scheme’. 

To provide the Council with an approved and authorised process in which it can:

(a)               establish and encourage the development of flood groups within its District and

(b)               issue funding to those groups for schemes relating to response action and flood prevention in their respective local areas.
