To approve the Council's Play Strategy. (The Executive at its meeting in January 2007 delegated approval of the Strategy to the Portfolio Holder).
The Big Lottery has made funding available to District and Unitary Authorities to improve the provision for free (i.e. at no cost) play opportunities for children. In the case of the Vale, the funding available is approximately £200,000. To be able to apply for this funding the Council has to have a Play Strategy in place.
