Councillor Roger Cox was first elected as a district councillor for the Faringdon and Coxwells ward of the Vale of White Horse District Council in May 2003, he was re-elected in 2007, 2011 and 2015.  In 2011 he became Deputy Leader of the Council, cabinet member for planning, and for environmental health and housing.  In May 2018 he was elected Leader of the Council. 

 

He is chairman of the Vale cabinet, chairman of the Joint South Oxfordshire DC and Vale Staff Committee, a no-executive director of the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and vice- chairman of the Oxfordshire Growth Board.  He was a Faringdon Town Councillor from 2004 to 2015, chairman of governors at Faringdon Infant School from 2004 to 2017 and he remains a director of the Faringdon Educational Activities Trust.  He was also a founder member of the Oxfordshire County Council Pension Fund Management Board. 

 

Roger is married with three children and three grandchildren.  He and this wife sing in the Cotswold Voices community choir.
